I caught her with a man in our room, man tells court:He is irresponsible —Wife

“My wife is a prostitute and has
desecrated our matrimonial
home,’’ a cabinet maker, Samson
Animashaun, told an Igando
Customary Court in Lagos State on
Wednesday.
Thirty-seven-year-old Animashaun
wants the court to dissolve his 14-
year-old marriage to 34-year-old
Anirat, a trader, on the grounds of
prostitution and infidelity.
“My wife is dating different men
who come to pick and drop her in
the house.
“She receives calls from them even
at night in my presence. I once
caught her red-handed with a man
in our room,’’ he said.
According to him, since Anirat had
parked out of her matrimonial
home to live with another man,
their marriage no longer exists.
Anirat responding alleged lack of
care.
``My husband does not take care
of the family. He abandoned the
children even when they were ill.
“I single-handedly paid their
hospital bills.
“He also denied me access to
them and threatened to kill me if I
go near them,” she said.
Anirat, however, did not object to
the dissolution of the marriage,
saying she could no longer cope
with Samson’s irresponsible ways.
In his ruling, the court president,
Mr R.I. Adeyeri, adjourned the case
till August 13.
