The Nigeria Police Force says it
has concluded all necessary
procedure to handover a 23-year-
old Nigerian, suspected of murder,
to the UK authorities.
A statement on Wednesday by
Assistant Commissioner of Police
Emmanuel Ojukwu, the Force
Public Relations Officer, in Abuja,
said the Nigerian, Jeffery Okafor,
allegedly killed one Carl Beatson
Asiedu on August 1, 2009, in
London.
He said the Inspector General of
Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, had
assured the International law
enforcement communities that the
Nigeria Police would always ensure
that all fugitives that showed up in
Nigeria were apprehended.
Ojukwu added that Abba further
promised that such fugitives would
be turned over accordingly upon
request
The statement quoted the IG as
commending Police Intelligence
Operatives for the arrest of the
suspect in the United Kingdom.
Ojukwu, who said that the suspect,
aged 23, fled to Nigeria on
September 23, 2014, and stayed in
Asaba, Delta, added that he was
