Stephen Keshi failed to show up at
the post match conference after
the team’s 2-2 draw with Bafana
Bafana of South Africa in a last
group game of the 2015 Africa Cup
of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
After the final whistle at the Akwa
Ibom International Stadium, Uyo,
on Wednesday night, the Eagles
were a pitiable sight to behold,
following the result which has
ruled Nigeria out of next year’s
AFCON in Equatorial Guinea.
Also, captain Vincent Enyeama
failed to attend the post match
conference, as he and his team-
mates hurriedly left the stadium in
sad mood.
Meanwhile, coach of South Africa,
Ephraim ‘Shakes’Mashaba
attributed his team’s qualification
for the AFCON 2015 to good
planning.
Mashaba stated that youthfulness
aided the team’s sterling
performance with the introduction
of four U-17 players as well as
other youngsters to build a
formidable team.
