unveiled an insurance scheme
powered by Globacom to support
its members and their families
nationwide.

Card, SVID, the insurance scheme,
instituted by Glo in partnership
with the NURTW, United Bank for
Africa and Skye Bank, will provide
comfort to family and relations of
any NURTW member who dies or
suffers permanent disability due to
road accidents or any auto related
mishaps.
Unveiling the scheme in Abuja, the
Minister of Labour and
Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu,
commended the national carrier,
Globacom, for its uncommon and
unprecedented initiatives in the
country.
Wogu called on individuals,
corporate bodies and civil society
groups to support the present
administration on all labour
related matters for industrial
harmony in the country.
Giving insight into the scheme, the
Head of Glo Gateway, Mr Steve
Stretch, said the immediate family
of any NURTW member who died in
an accident would be paid
N1million to cushion the effect of
the death of their breadwinner.
Similarly, he said N850, 000 would
accrue to the family of any
member who suffered permanent
disability caused by road accident
in the course of discharging his
daily activities.
“Much as no one prays for
accidents, we know that such can
happen unannounced. When
people die untimely in accidents or
become incapacitated through
accidents, their families suffer
untold hardship, especially where
such victims are the breadwinners.
This is what Globacom wants to
forestall with this scheme”, he
said.
