NFF constitutes committee for Keshi’s re-engagement •Shehu Adamu named 1st VP; election still Aug 26

The  board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) rose from its  emergency meeting on Wednesday in Abuja with some far reaching resolutions on the nation’s football, chief amongst which is the constituting of a committee on Stephen Keshi’s job.Briefing journalists after the meeting, spokesman for the  board, Chief Emeka Inyama said: “Folllowing the report of a three-man committee appointed to open channels of communications with Stephen Keshi on the probability of contract renewal of the Super Eagles head coach job, the executive committee approved thatthe acting president convene a meeting of the NFF emergency committee to approve finalise details of Keshi’s  possible re-engagement within the shortest possible time.”Other resolution is that the board unanimously appointed Honourable Shehu Adamu as acting president of the NFF. The board also retained the electoral committee headed by Mr Amoni Biambo with the exclusionof Dr  Akpo Mudiaga Odje and Patrick Paschal, while the electoral appeals committee is also retained with the exclusion of Barrister Eddy Mark who is the a chairman of NFF judicial bodies.Barrister Musa Amadu was also retained as the General Secretary. As a possible move to recall the likes of Chiefs Rumsom Baribote and Taiwo Ogunjobi, the board has constituted a committee to be headed by Chief Effiong Johnson, while others are Shehu Adamu, Ayodeji Tinubu, Mrs Dilichukwu Onyedima and Honourable Yahaya Kwande. Christian Omeruwa is the secretary.
The board resolved that the elective congress of the NFF will stillhold on Tuesday, August 26 in Abuja, while the General Assembly will now hold on Wednesday, November 18, 2014 at a venue to be determined later.
