NIGERIA on Thursday clinched additional one silver and three bronze medals through the wrestling team at the ongoing 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.The Games will offcially end on Sunday.Andrew Dick lost to Canadian Tamerlan Tagziev in the men’s wrestling freestyle 68kg final to account for Team’s Nigeria only silver medal on the closing day of the mat event.Sampson Clarkson had earlier in the day defeated Terry van Rensburg of South Africa to claim the bronze medal in the men’s freestyle 65kg, alongside Alex Gladkov of Scotland who defeated Chamara Perera of Sri Lanka.Also, Blessing Oborududu outclassed Chloe Spiteri of England in the women’s freestyle 63kg to win the bronze alongside fellow African, Cameroonian Blandine Metala Epanga who triumphed over Sarah Connolly of Wales.Team Nigeria’s last bronze in wrestling was won by Ifeoma Nwoye who edged past Cameroonian Joseph Essombe Tiako in the women’s freestyle 55kg, alongside Louisa Porogovska of England who defeated Kathryn Marsh of Scotland.
The Nigerian wrestling team finished the Games with two gold, two silver and eight bronze medals.
